about

CREDO turns 50 with a release containing music that marks a milestone for a second time now for Alex Bau: 'Back in 1995, just having started as a dj a few years ago, and visiting Frankfurt's temple Omen with the legendary icon Sven behind the decks from time to time, this track impressed me in a way I would never forget again. A monster rolling through the club, building up step by step and then finally peaking off by a massive, totally suprising scream 'PULSEMAN AHHHHHHH...'. Riots on the dancefloor once the track even intensifies by highly distorted upwinding acidlines and leaving a totally devastated crowd and floor after 13 minutes of total techno madness. It was one of the tracks that control your mind until the end of the night... every musiclover knows tracks like this. I always wanted to re- release this monster, but it took me a while to arrange things and find the right time, and finally Takkyu said 'Yes, please introduce my old school techno shit to young kids. LOL' it felt like we had arrived. The question was how to do it, and I decided to leave this holy original kind of untouched as it is and not to do a simple re-release, but translate it into a contemporary language while keeping the energy and the original spirit. Due to the overall acid appearence of the original my first idea was 'Let's ask Emmanual Top', another legend for me personally, and I can't remember when I was that nervous last time when I was typing the email to ask him. When he answered and told me that he would love to do it I first couldn't believe it. Imagine one of your legends remixes one of your alltime favourites on your own label... and he delivered! What a remix!!! I decided to stay a bit more reduced with my remix, more focussed on the rolling basis, as a little bow towards the original. Thank you Takkyu. Thank you Emmanuel.'
